About us

Wade and Lucy have been involved in music together since 1996. Through various incarnations, we find ourselves at Puddle Mary’s, a folktronica 2 piece.Wade has been involved in bands since he was 14 playing bass with his school mates. This culminated in K State which was a popular band playing original numbers on the North London circuit. Wade also plays guitar and oversees all the technical aspects of the music.Lucy has always been interested in music and cut her teeth playing in school plays, singing in pubs and on stage in local theatre. Before a one year trip to the USA, she sang in a local band for a while as well. After the hiatus, she joined the group where Wade played bass for and the rest, as they say is history. As stated, the Puddle Marys are a folktronica act. This comprises of melding traditional and popular songs with an acoustic bias and using technology to enhance beats or sounds to accompany the music. Lucy states that “we like to take songs back to basics and put our own spin on them. We find that this process helps our creativity flow.”Wade adds “we have an eclectic mix that can be anyone from Steeleye Span to Jessie J, Goldfrapp and David Bowie to Martin Carthy and traditional songs.”
